DevOps Engineer

Locations: Remote/ Kansas City

We're in looking for a DevOps Engineer eager to learn and contribute to setting up infrastructure and pipelines to support developers. Your tech know-how should cover areas like Git, Ansible, Python, Docker, and databases. Good communication is key, as you'll be regularly interacting with a variety of stakeholders. What You Will Get To Do:

  Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of development experience (Java, Go, Python, or other languages)
  • A solid foundation in object-oriented and cloud-native design
  • Experience in writing HTTP services in higher-level languages (e.g., Java/Spring, Go)
  • Experience with relational and document databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Experience learning new open-source software, APIs, and frameworks
  • Exposure to automated testing, modern CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
  • Familiar with bash, Git, JIRA, and agile methodologies

  Responsibilities:

  • Partner with software and operations engineers to support a modern private cloud that can handle the requirements for a global company
  • Design, build, and deploy services supporting our enterprise cloud platform
  • Mentor other software engineers around patterns and practices for highly available systems
  • Integrate with CI/CD, Kubernetes, VMs, backend services, and managed-service offerings
  • Build and maintain observability dashboards to monitor the overall health of the ecosystem
  • Build common components for reuse across the organization, maintaining documentation, demo applications, and reviewing pull requests
  • Work closely with our support team and user community to promote best practices for cloud adoption

What You Will Bring:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of popular and open-source DevOps tools like Git, Ansible, Python, Docker, and databases.

  • Understand how to use Git, programming languages such as Python, and automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
  • Experience in developing/engineering applications for a company.

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Master's degree, or bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience, or high school degree and 10 years of related experience.
