Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery Ownership
    • Manage and be accountable for the successful delivery of projects within agreed constraints of time, cost, and quality.
    • Ensure alignment of project outcomes with business goals and priorities.
  • Agile Leadership
    • Oversee multiple agile and scrum teams, ensuring effective coordination and delivery alignment.
    • Lead or facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives when required.
    • Look ahead to ensure upcoming sprints are prepared and aligned with delivery milestones.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Represent the build team at steering committees, project calls, and other governance forums.
    • Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Build strong relationships across business and technology teams.
  • Dependency & Risk Management
    • Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and blockers (unclear requirements, tool issues, approvals, resourcing gaps, conflicting priorities).
    • Anticipate delivery challenges and resolve them before they impact teams.
    • Ensure dependencies across teams and projects are tracked and managed effectively.
  • Delivery Metrics & Continuous Improvement
    • Track and report on delivery metrics including flow & throughput, quality indicators, planned vs. delivered, and blocker metrics.
    • Use data-driven insights to improve delivery predictability, quality, and efficiency.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across teams.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Project Manager, or similar role in a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or equivalent) and hands-on experience working with agile teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset for identifying and resolving delivery blockers.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus.
  • Experience in tracking and reporting delivery metrics to drive accountability and improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and initiatives concurrently.
  • Familiarity with project and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar).
