What You Will Get To Do:
With a significant business expansion planned for 2025—adding approximately 1,200 employees—the Payroll Analyst will play a key role in developing and supporting the payroll infrastructure. This role suits a detail-oriented, proactive professional with strong payroll systems experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The Payroll Analyst will work closely with HR and other departments to ensure efficient and accurate payroll operations across multiple sites and employee groups.
Accurately process payroll using the ADP Managed Service platform, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, modern awards, and enterprise agreements
Manage high volumes of overtime claims through the HRIS Time & Attendance platform, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Process high volumes of leave requests via the HRIS Absence Management system, ensuring adherence to relevant awards and agreements
Investigate and resolve discrepancies where HRIS outputs do not align with expected results
Review and analyse payroll reports to ensure accurate outcomes within the fortnightly processing schedule
Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll records and deliver high-quality service to employees regarding pay, deductions, and benefits queries
Build a solid understanding of SS&C payroll processes and systems
Maintain accurate employee records, including new starters, terminations, salary changes, leave data, and benefits. Ensure data integrity across platforms with timely updates
Work closely with HR and Finance to support changes to employee benefits, salary reviews, bonuses, and equity allocations, ensuring correct job coding and deductions
Provide accurate and timely payroll-related data to the wider Finance team
Use and report from SS&C's HRIS (Workday) as required to support payroll functions
Review payroll reports prepared by junior analysts for accuracy and completeness
Finalise payroll processing to sign-off stage, ensuring all required approvals are in place
Ensure all payroll processes are appropriately authorised
Actively contribute to the ongoing improvement and approval of payroll procedures
Perform other duties as required to support the wider payroll team
What You Will Bring:
Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or business administration is advantageous but not essential
In-depth understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and reporting requirements
Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll processing, ideally in a growing business or multi-location environment with 1,000+ employees
Proficiency in payroll platforms such as ADP Payforce
Strong knowledge of Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) and Excel is a plus
Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team
Experience overseeing and reviewing work processes completed by junior team members
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: financial formulas, pivot tables, spreadsheet management, and linking formulas across sheets
