Title: Sr. Storage Engineer
Locations: Australia II Remote
Note: While this is a remote position, there may be occasional requirements to escort vendors onsite for support purposes. Travel and accommodation will be provided as needed.

What You Will Get To Do:
- Optimize Storage & Backup Performance:
- Oversee the overall performance of storage and backup solutions, ensuring minimal latency and optimal efficiency across the infrastructure.
- Conduct cross-platform workload analysis and performance profiling to predict and enhance storage and backup system performance.
- System Design & Maintenance:
- Design, test, deploy, and maintain complex, parallel-access storage and backup systems.
- Continuously monitor and analyze system performance, establishing measurement processes and tracking efficiency against application and project requirements.
- Define and implement proactive threshold alerting mechanisms for early detection of potential performance issues.
- Issue Resolution & Support:
- Identify and remediate I/O, throughput, or latency degradation across storage tiers, conducting root cause analysis and implementing solutions.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for all storage and backup platforms on a rotational basis, ensuring system reliability and business continuity.
- Collaboration & Project Management:
- Work closely with engineers and architects to align tactical storage and backup strategies with business objectives, fostering a collaborative development and analysis environment.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, setting clear milestones and deadlines in alignment with broader organizational goals.
What You Will Bring:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
- Over six years of progressively responsible, hands-on experience in IT.
- More than four years of direct experience managing high-performance SAN and NAS environments.
- Over four years of hands-on experience managing backup solutions, including Cohesity, Commvault, Avamar, and/or Veeam.
- Storage & Backup Expertise:
- In-depth experience with Parallel and Distributed NAS (CIFS & NFS), Block (FC & iSCSI), and Object (S3) storage technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of PURE Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade systems.
- Experience integrating and automating PURE Storage API within production environments.
- Familiarity with storage systems such as EMC, NetApp, HDS, IBM, HPE, or similar next-generation technologies (preferred).
- Expertise in Cohesity data protection, including physical and virtual clusters, replication, and cloud archiving.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Linux, Windows, and VMware administration, with strong scripting skills in PowerShell and BASH.
- Familiarity with Python and PostgreSQL databases (preferred).
- Experience in Grafana dashboard creation and database integration.
- Deep understanding of server behavior affecting storage and backup solutions, as well as storage/backup architecture concepts.
- Project & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Hands-on experience with project implementations, lifecycle management, and best practices.
- Strong background in infrastructure technologies supporting application development, including databases and servers.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, develop, and implement solutions efficiently, from prototyping to production deployment.
- Soft Skills & Work Approach:
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and capable of working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Skilled at balancing multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
