Sr. Business Systems Analyst

As a Business Systems Risk Analyst you are an advanced professional working on complex or high-profile issues requiring a broad perspective, conceptual thinking, and in-depth analysis. You will build and produce datasets and reports using SQL queries and system reporting tools to identify and analyze potential exposure from complex business problems and issues resulting from delayed or erroneous processing of claim transactions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of PBM processing requirements, have strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders. Firsthand knowledge of the database structures and IPNS/RxNova operating platforms would be beneficial.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Data Extraction & Claims Retrieval:
    • Pull claims data from multiple sources (e.g., internal databases, claims processing systems, data warehouses) based on specified criteria, such as date ranges, claim types, and specific processing issues.
    • Collaborate with IT, operations, and data management teams to ensure accurate and efficient extraction of datasets.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy when retrieving and compiling claims information.
  • Claims Data Analysis:
    • Analyze claims data to identify discrepancies, trends, and issues related to the processing issue identified.
    • Evaluate claims data to assess the financial impact on the customer, members, or SS&C Health, including any overpayments, underpayments, or billing errors.
    • Identify any patterns or recurring issues that could indicate systemic problems requiring further investigation or corrective actions.
    • Review member and customer financial responsibility, including copayments, deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, and potential reimbursements or adjustments.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Prepare and present clear and concise reports on findings, including financial impact assessments and actionable recommendations.
    • Communicate findings and updates regularly to leadership and other departments, providing insights into potential financial implications and recommended corrective measures.

What You Will Bring:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience. Preferred degrees include Business, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in claims analysis, healthcare data analytics, or related field.
    • Experience with claims management systems and data extraction tools.
    • Proven experience in financial impact analysis, with knowledge of healthcare financials, pharmacy claims, and member payment responsibilities.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, or other database management systems).
    • Knowledge of healthcare claims adjudication.
    • Familiarity with healthcare systems such as claims databases and pharmacy benefit management (PBM).
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Strong ability to analyze large datasets and derive meaningful insights.
    • Expertise in identifying trends, discrepancies, and potential issues within claims data.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
