Overview

Are you a people person? Do you enjoy puzzles, troubleshooting and solving problems? The Asset Management Bureau in the Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) is looking for a candidate to provide business-side support for the Vermont Asset Management Information System (VAMIS).

 

The team that supports this system desires a positive, divergent thinker who can work effectively with a wide range of customers and personalities. As a member of the team, you will be frontline support, responding to requests for assistance related to both our lifecycle cost analyses, as well as our Operations Management (OM) module. You will be a primary liaison within VTrans to the District Maintenance and Fleet Division (DM&F) as well as Highway Division (HWY) for answering technical questions and resolving user issues. By providing high quality support for VAMIS, you will be helping to ensure that agency staff have the tools they need to accomplish the mission.   

 

Through excellent customer service, provide for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods in a socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable manner. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of how to support users at every skill level, from the technically challenged to the technically advanced. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to develop job aids and to work with system users in a reasonable and professional manner. 

 

Please note, this is an office position, but travel around the state will be required. Some work may be required outside normal business hours, particularly in the winter to support snow and ice control operations.

This position, AOT Data Analyst I (Job Requisition #50430), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized through 09/30/2026. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or two (2) years college coursework in data science, data analysis, engineering, Geographic Information Systems, or other closely related field.
OR
Two (2) or more years of experience in data science, data analysis, engineering, Geographic Information Systems, or other closely related field.
