Overview

The Governor's Constituent Services Office (CSO) seeks a capable and motivated individual to join our team as Constituent Services Liaison. The CSO is the primary point of constituent contact for the Office of the Governor. On behalf of the Governor, CSO assists and shares information with Vermonters, addresses individual issues, answers questions, and receives feedback on policies, proposals and community needs. This office interacts directly and frequently with Vermonters, receives and records a wide variety of cases, issues, perspectives and opinions from within and outside of Vermont's borders. CSO works with agencies and departments throughout state government to ensure each Vermonter's inquiry is addressed.

Description

This Constituent Services Liaison will be responsible for managing a portfolio of policy areas, serving a “casework” function to help resolve constituent inquiries in a timely manner. CSO Liaisons have an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the work and effectiveness of state government programs and services; state policy development and implementation; and the Governor's policy agenda. Frequently, research and/or engagement with agencies and departments is necessary to ensure constituents receive a thorough and accurate response. There is perhaps no better introduction to state government and its frontline services.

Other responsibilities include:
•    Engaging with constituents via phone, email, and physical mail.
•    Managing, responding to, and tracking inquiries in the CSO's CRM system.
•    Working with state agencies/departments to resolve constituent issues.
•    Drafting correspondence on behalf of CSO and the Governor.
•    Assisting with special projects, and other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate believes in public service, supports Governor Scott's priorities, is self-motivated, curious about how things work and how to make them work better, is customer-service oriented, can patiently listen to constituents who are very frustrated or concerned, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.

Compensation

This is an exempt, full-time and entry-level position located in Montpelier, Vermont. Starting salary $48,000/year, plus excellent healthcare and retirement benefits and paid vacation days.
