Overview
Professional and technical work involving various procurement processes, contract drafting, and a variety of agreements for the Department of Environmental Conservation. Work in this class requires a high level of expertise, breadth of knowledge, and degree of responsibility in procurement processes and contracting. Supervision may be exercised over a professional and technical staff. Work is performed, with considerable independence, under the general direction of an administrative or professional supervisor.
Who May ApplyThis position, DEC Contracts Specialist - Temp (Job Requisition #55252), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Duties are performed in an office setting. Incumbent interacts with internal and external customers requiring professional conduct.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline AND one (1) year or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants and agreements, maintenance or construction processes, or accounting.
OR
Two years of full-time college coursework OR Associates degree in accounting or related discipline AND two (2) years or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants and agreements, maintenance or construction processes, or accounting.
OR
High School diploma AND four (4) years or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants and agreements, maintenance or construction processes, or accounting.
