Overview

The Office of Child Support is recruiting for a staff attorney stationed in the Rutland District Office, sharing coverage of child support cases in Bennington, Rutland, and Addison Counties, and covering cases around the state as needed.  Primary responsibilities include handling hearings before the Family Division Magistrate and Judges, providing legal assistance to the District Office, and motion and appellate work.  The successful attorney will have demonstrated skill in the courtroom, strong legal research and writing skills, an ability to work collaboratively in an office environment, experience with negotiation or mediation, and a desire to participate in a variety of projects with statewide impact. This position is currently eligible for a hybrid work schedule. OCS staff attorneys are compensated according to the State of Vermont Attorney Pay Plan. 

Compensation

Salary and benefits will be based upon qualifications and experience in accordance with the State of Vermont Attorney Pay Plan.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be admitted to the Vermont Bar.
