Description

The Operations Associate II - Dividends is responsible for aiding in driving departmental results as well as additional tasks which could require more experience and expertise to perform. This position requires a sound understanding of the processes while serving as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders. This position will require strong collaboration among team members and direct supervision.



What We're Looking For

  • Accurately process/performs department specific while adhering to departmental procedures and guidelines provided by leadership
  • Ensure adherence to regulations, Stifel policies, and department procedures and policies
  • Proficient processing/performance department specific as well as additional higher level tasks for the department
  • Identify potential problems or issues that fall outside of standard procedures and provide leadership with ways to improve operational efficiency
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills within the department and to key stakeholders
  • Provide timely updates on progression of job responsibilities to leadership
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively both within a team and outside of the department
  • Assist in the advancement of both departmental and firm wide initiatives when needed
  • Responsible for non-routine activities/transactions by drawing on multiple information sources and understanding multiple effects of a transaction
  • Interface with custodians and brokers to resolve day-to-day transactions and ensure prompt and efficient settlement of dividend/interest activity
  • Be able to provide back up to all department team members as needed
  • Monitor exception reports pertinent to the status of ongoing activities
  • Advanced technical skills: Proficient in utilizing DTC, BETA, and Excel

  • Initiative and self-direction when performing tasks with the ability to organize and prioritize effectively in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to utilize sound judgment in order to assist with more complex issues with the ability to disseminate relevant information to leadership
  • Able to handle large workloads that vary based on heavy volume periods, while prioritizing the work in order to efficiently manage time
  • Ability to work autonomously throughout the day based on performance criteria provided by leadership
  • Ability to assist in training both new and existing associates on departmental processes regarding the advisory account services processes


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Required: 2+ years professional business related experience


Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel  LI-AS1
