Description

The New Accounts Manager is responsible for providing leadership within the department by administrating department objectives and measures, day-to-day management of workloads, and associate development and performance management. This position requires experience in handling challenging subject matter and ensuring department completion of all necessary work on time and with the highest quality. This position is required to learn and understand the high-level aspects of all the department functions to appropriately provide leadership and guidance to associates while monitoring workloads and providing insight into staffing needs.



What We're Looking For

  • Works proficiently understands complex account types and account structures, legal documents, trusts, international accounts, and regulatory rules relating to New Accounts such as Books and Records and Lost Security Holder.
  • Assists in providing leadership to the department, which includes the development of associates through coaching, mentorship, and training.
  • Collaborates with the New Accounts leadership group concerning overall department strategy and decision-making and provides timely updates on projects and tasks.
  • Provides expertise to the department by assisting associates to resolve complex questions or situations of an escalated nature and provides advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Develops employees' goals and performance objectives and works to help the employees achieve them, including developing action plans as necessary, performing periodic and annual reviews, and ongoing development.
  • Initiates disciplinary actions as needed, including escalations to HR when necessary.
  • Manages staffing needs, including interviewing candidates and ensuring each group in the department is staffed according to workloads.
  • Oversees and monitors group assignments, daily duties, and other duties, projects, and initiatives as assigned by Director.
  • Reviews, monitors, and develops policies and procedures for the department and ensures updates are made when needed.
  • Establishes and maintains department controls to ensure compliance for internal and external audits.
  • Maintains and models a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude and always promotes team collaboration.


What You'll Bring

  • Expert knowledge in interpreting and applying financial industry rules and regulations.
  • Proven leadership skills with proficient knowledge of teamwork and the ability to lead projects through to completion.
  • Ability to ensure all controls within the department are met and written procedures are audited annually.
  • Proficient knowledge of account types and structures, along with documentation needed.
  • Ability to make timely and informed decisions considering facts, goals, regulations, and risks.
  • Able to have a clear, professional, and open dialogue with all organization members while demonstrating the ability to choose correct communication behavior that is appropriate and effective for a given situation.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
  • Promotes cooperation, exhibits flexibility in working with others, and demonstrates managing conflict effectively while maintaining positive and productive relationships.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum Required: 8+ years of experience within the financial services industry.


Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: SIE, Series 7 & 63, or ability to obtain within one year.


Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Thomson One, BETA, eQuest, Salesforce, and Onbase experience preferred.  LI-AS1
