Description
Under general supervision, the Research Associate III is primarily responsible for evaluating biotechnology therapeutic pipelines and competitive landscapes by analyzing data presentations and scientific literature, performing financial modeling, and providing organizational support to the senior level Research Analyst. The ideal candidate possesses high-level knowledge of oncology and/or immunology concepts. At this level, the associate should demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, competitive landscape diligence, and the basics of financial modeling. The role requires the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts in a clear and concise manner both orally and in writing.
What We're Looking For
- Conduct proprietary research to evaluate drug pipelines by analyzing scientific literature, attending medical conferences, and speaking with key opinion leaders.
- Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and drug revenue models.
- Written contribution to research reports for initiations of coverage, analysis of data, and company news.
- Build and maintain drug/indication competitive landscape analyses.
- Clearly state and defend the Analyst's investment thesis and outlook for each of the stocks under coverage.
- Respond to basic questions from institutional sales and clients regarding covered companies, industry trends, and data requests.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and use all resources to identify and locate relevant research materials.
- Continuously develop industry knowledge and stay up to date on industry news flow.
What You'll Bring
- High level understanding of scientific concepts related to drug mechanism of action and clinical endpoints - ability to analyze and draw novel conclusions from medical literature and clinical/pre-clinical data presentations.

Education & Experience
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in the biomedical STEM field, Masters or higher degree in relevant field preferred
- Minimum Required: 4 years of experience in biotech equity research or oncology focused healthcare consulting
Licenses & Credentials
- Minimum Required: SIE, Series 63, 86, and 87 expected to be obtained upon hire
Systems & Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
