The Trade Support Operations Associate II is responsible for aiding in driving departmental results for the ongoing support of balancing and resolving all fixed income transactions for the firm on an independent level, and under general supervision of a Team Lead or higher, assist in processing the more complex workflows such as MBS allocations and pair offs. This position requires a sound understanding of department subject matter, including regulatory trade reporting for TRACE and MSRB, as well as knowledge of general operational and industry questions. This position will require collaboration among team members and Trading Desks to provide a high level of service under indirect supervision while following established procedures.

  • Identifies potential problems or issues that fall outside standard procedures and provides leadership with ways to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop effective communication skills within the department Stifel Branch Personnel and key stakeholders.
  • Provides timely updates on the progression of job responsibilities to leadership.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with other areas in the firm.
  • Manages higher level and sensitive information with the ability to record caller interactions.
  • Provides the highest quality of customer service through written and verbal communication.
  • Maintains a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward callers and always promotes team collaboration.
  • Assists with transitioning Financial Advisors to the firm, which includes processing client mailings, training, and answering questions regarding the onboarding process.
  • Ability to reconcile all fixed-income trades and resolve complex comparison problems.
  • Assists with MBS allocations and pair-offs along with trade assignments.
  • Monitors and manages all the CMOs by tracking and releasing the queue to TRACE in Bloomberg and BETA.
  • Understand regulatory trade reporting for TRACE & MSRB to make corrections, etc.
  • Assists with testing various F.I. systems and upgrades.


What You'll Bring

  • Provides intermediate support related to industry-related questions, branch procedures, and research branch inquiries while acting as the company gatekeeper for Stifel information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow up on open tasks, multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to utilize sound judgment and personal business experience to assist with more complex issues with the ability to disseminate relevant information to leadership and other support areas.
  • Sound understanding of Stifel's applications, industry rules/regulations, and Stifel policies that pertain to the department and Stifel's branches.
  • Ability to assist with testing applications and upgrades as they become available.
  • Working knowledge of financial services applications, systems (Bloomberg, DTCC), terminology, procedures, and ability to adapt to these changes.
  • Ability to assist in training both new and existing associates on departmental processes.
  • Able to review, determine, and correct the causes of high-level and advanced inquiries, issues, and errors.
  • Understands and complies with regulatory trade reporting requirements such as TRACE and MSRB.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma with equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum Required: 2-4 years of professional business-related experience.


Systems & Technology

  • Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Thomson One, BETA, and Salesforce knowledge is beneficial. #LI-AS1
