POSITION PURPOSE As a member of the Data, Analytics, & Reporting Team, the BI Data Analyst is responsible for assisting with data analysis, data mapping, data quality, and report writing. The role requires the ability to leverage data from multiple sources across multiple business units to develop innovative solutions to business problems. An ideal candidate must be able to work closely with business partners to understand the concepts and pace of our wireless business (retail industry). 
The DART Team integrates information from multiple systems into the Wireless Division Data Hub with subject area data cubes to facilitate reporting and data analysis. The goal is to provide our business partners with visibility into the data / information needed to make key business decision and take action. The BI Data Analyst will encompass hands-on data gathering, data analysis, data quality checks, and report development / data visualizations.  The BI Data Analyst will be expected to respond to requests for assistance with new development as well as support, and provide backup to the Sr. BI Business Analyst. 
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners to capture data, analytic, and reporting requirements; translate business requirements into data requirements; turn abstract information from data analyses into appealing and understandable visualizations that improve business insights and drive action
  • Responsible for Data Mapping and own creation of Data Mapping documentation
  • Ability to deliver solutions via agile approach, leveraging best practices and implementing repeatable processes
  • Responsible for developing processes to ensure data quality for metrics shared and/or visualized in reporting, analysis, and data integrations.
  • Assist with internal sprint testing 
  • Responsible for PowerBI dashboard and report visualizations developed in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Lead adoption of the Wireless Division Report Catalog
  • Manage content of the Wireless Division Report Catalog (monitor utilization, remove unused reports, etc)
  • Continued growth in understanding TCC business, processes, relevant source systems, success metrics
  • Continued growth in understanding where data, reporting, and analytics technologies are heading; evaluate new tools and perform research on best practices
  • Document and communicate success stories depicting business value-add to delivered BI solutions
  • Skills and Competencies. 
  • Proven ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, with all areas at TCC; excellent communication skills are important – both written and spoken. 
  • Must have a desire to help the business adopt the technology and possess strategic and creative problem-solving skills to fully leverage the technology's growing capabilities
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage time and priorities to meet deadlines. 
  • Experience working with agile concepts and delivery
  • Strong collaborative, analytic skills to work with business partners to drive requirements for solutions
  • Mitigate problems and roadblocks, involving internal and external stakeholders
  • Innovative mindset; ability to think both creatively and critically
  • Ability to write basic SQL queries; help create ad hoc queries and provide data as requested
  • Able to evaluate priorities and manage work to critical project timelines in fast-paced environment.
  • Experience creating PowerBI dashboards and reports
  • Prefer experience with Microsoft Power Platform
  • Prefer experience with Azure Analytical Services, tabular models
  • Prefer experience in Retail industry
  • Must demonstrate the ability to interpret business data and translate into insightful recommendations
  • Ability to drive end-user adoption of data, reporting, and analytic solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in high-pressure environment
  • Research and troubleshoot issues and questions related to deployed solutions
  • Maintain knowledge on the latest data technology and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Information Systems or Computer Science, Equivalent combination of education and position specific work experience will be considered
  • A minimum of 4 years working in a relevant role with at least 2 years of experience working specifically with data and the analysis of data, as well as 2 years of PowerBI report writing
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
