**Job Title: Assisted Living Activities Assistant**

**Location:** The Pointe at Lifespring
**Job Type:** Full-Time
**Reports to:** Activities Director/Program Coordinator

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our assisted living facility team. The ideal candidate will assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities for our residents, fostering their physical, social, and emotional well-being. The Activities Assistant will work closely with residents, staff, family members, and community volunteers to create a vibrant, supportive atmosphere that promotes independence and enhances quality of life.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Activity Planning:** Collaborate with the Activities Director to plan and organize a diverse range of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
- **Activity Implementation:** Assist in the execution of scheduled activities, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. This may include arts and crafts, games, music therapy, exercise classes, outings, and special events.
- **Resident Engagement:** Foster relationships with residents by engaging with them during activities, encouraging participation, and providing assistance as needed. Understand individual preferences and adapt activities accordingly.
- **Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of programs and suggest improvements based on resident needs.
- **Safety and Compliance:** Ensure the wellbeing and safety of residents during activities. Follow all safety protocols and facility policies, including infection control measures.
- **Collaboration:** Work closely with nursing staff and other departments to ensure activities align with residents' health and personal care plans.
- **Resident Support:** Provide support to residents in their daily routines, promoting independence and dignity in their care.
- **Creativity and Initiative:** Bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the activities program, seeking new ways to enhance resident engagement and satisfaction.

**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in recreational therapy, gerontology, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or with seniors is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Creative mindset with a passion for promoting resident engagement through diverse activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility in scheduling.
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred or willing to obtain).

**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and assisting residents on an ongoing basis.
