The opportunity

Key responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with program stakeholders, including external and internal clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Tetra Tech with the program team, DFAT, and key partners.
- Lead decision-making processes to proactively address and resolve client management issues.
- Manage a program portfolio to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, financial reporting requirements, and program outcomes.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with program stakeholders, including external and internal clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Tetra Tech with the program team, DFAT, and key partners.
- Lead decision-making processes to proactively address and resolve client management issues.
- Ensure program objectives align with client and stakeholder expectations.
- Guarantee that all deliverables and reports required for corporate and client purposes are of high quality, accurate, and delivered on time.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of program personnel to build a competent and effective team.
- Negotiate contracts, fee rates, and agreements with consultants and subcontractors.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to enhance program and business performance.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of program costs, forecasting, and disbursements.
- Oversee program working capital, closely monitoring outstanding debtors and unbilled charges.
- Conduct financial audits, compliance checks, and implement fraud management controls.
- Ensure adherence to organisational priorities, policies, and compliance standards.
- Identify, champion, and deliver process improvements and developments that support the team and the business.
- Set and manage performance expectations for direct reports, providing ongoing support and mentorship.
- Provide mentoring and career development support to junior staff in program and financial management.
Selection criteria
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Finance, Accounting, Business, or Program Management).
- Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA, or CGMA) strongly preferred.
- Project management qualification is desirable.
- Proven ability to oversee complex program management functions from inception to completion.
- Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and risk assessment.
- Advanced commercial literacy and expertise in financial planning, analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Strong understanding of contract management, cost control, and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and present financial data to key stakeholders.
- Experience leading diverse teams in an international development context.
- High level of organisation, coordination and proactice planning.
- High proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability, organisational agility, and ability to drive innovation.
