Your Role:  

An experienced Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion, with a specific focus on the construction and maintenance of transportation projects. Experience in construction management, safety management, project management, team leadership, conflict resolution, budget management, team leadership, conflict resolution, budget management, technical proficiency in construction software.

  • Manage multiple construction and maintenance projects for roadways and bridges, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of field inspectors, project managers, and construction staff.
  • Mentor and train team members on best practices in construction management and safety.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment to enhance team performance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, subcontractors, and local government agencies.
  • Address public concerns and resolve disputes efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare and present project updates to management and stakeholders.:
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, change orders, and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with consultants and engineers to ensure project compliance and efficiency.
  • Review and approve project-related documentation, including RFIs and submittals.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and ensure all personnel adhere to safety protocols on-site.
  • Conduct safety meetings to promote a culture of safety within the team
  • Manage project budgets and resources effectively to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Work with record keepers to ensure audit-ready projects.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; further education in construction management or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Superintendent or in a similar role within the construction industry, specifically with TxDOT, NTTA, and municipalities in construction and maintenance projects for roadways and bridges. A minimum of 15 years of similar experience is preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles, SiteManager, safety regulations, and inspection processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and build relationships.
  • Proficient in materials testing management and clearing materials deficiencies.
