The Opportunity

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Irvine office. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience supporting a variety of federal, municipal, and private development projects.
You'll assist with the design of stormwater systems, grading, multiuse paths, and green/complete streets, as well as help with water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, and other infrastructure. This internship offers meaningful exposure to civil design and the chance to learn from experienced engineers and project managers in a collaborative environment.
Occasional fieldwork or survey/mapping support may be part of the role.

Your Role

  • Under the guidance of professional engineers, you will:

  • Assist with grading and drainage design using AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Support stormwater management and erosion control tasks

  • Contribute to the design of water distribution and sanitary sewer systems

  • Help prepare engineering reports, construction drawings, and cost estimates

  • Perform basic calculations and data analysis for design support

  • Participate in field investigations, survey, and mapping as needed

  • Collaborate across disciplines to support project deliverables

  • Learn and apply standard engineering practices and documentation requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (junior, senior, or recent graduate)

  • Interest in municipal infrastructure, transportation, or water resources design

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software (coursework or project experience preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills

  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing in a professional consulting environment

 

CA Salary: $23-$26 dependent on experience.
