Description

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious experienced Design Leader to join Tetra Tech's extremely successful and versatile team. This is a unique opportunity to Lead the Defence Estates Optimisation team working on varied and interesting commissions within the estate.

Reporting directly to the head of Structural Engineering, you will lead and manage Tetra Tech design consultants and design subconsultants inputs on DEOP projects. You will primarily be delivering projects within the Midlands and Southern region as well as the wider UK Engineering teams. In your role, with support from the Design Managers, you will manage the commercial aspects of the design and align design risks with commercial outcomes for the whole DEOP programme within Design &  Engineering. You will lead on technical risk management and mitigations for the client and will be working on large, multi disciplinary projects in the defence, science, nuclear and government property sectors.

 

As this role is significant within the growth of the Design and Engineering Discipline (D&E) you will also feed into and support the Growth Leadership team. This team will operate across all D&E disciplines and include key sectors. It will focus on positioning for major projects and plan and track growth initiatives. You will support the Leader of the team and deputise for them if they are unable to attend growth meetings.

 

About you

  • Previous experience leading major complex design projects.
  • An enthusiastic and professional approach
  • Adaptable with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fully IT literate and proficient in the use of standard Microsoft Office.
  • Be suitable for security clearance (all staff need to be security vetted to a minimum SC level).
