Design Assurance Lead / Deputy DAL [Chartered Architect / Chartered Architectural Technologist]
Reporting to the Head of Core Services on TSP South Framework, this role involves delivering/ leading a multi-disciplinary team providing technical design assurance on defence projects of varying type, size and complexity.
In addition, assisting Head of Studio and senior Directors to undertake internal design assurance on projects primarily within the public sector, including Defence and FCDO, complemented by residential and mixed-use opportunities.
The successful candidate will be involved in developing design assurance with clients.
Your Role
You will be an essential part of our multi-disciplinary team on a variety of design assurance projects for DIO, reviewing RIBA Stage 3 and 4 outputs from Design & Build contractors for new build and refurbishment projects, providing the expertise and knowledge to facilitate the delivery of climate resistant, low energy buildings.
About You
You must be an enthusiastic and motivated ARB registered Architect or CIAT Chartered Technologist with knowledge and experience in the design and assessment of a wide range of buildings and facilities from inception to completion. A proven track record of the delivery of defence infrastructure including new build and major refurbishment projects is desirable, as are any related experience, qualifications and certification regarding design assurance.
Fundamentally, you must have the ability to work at a high level, managing a multi-disciplinary team reviewing a range of drawing, modelling and interpersonal skills to engage, influence and collaborate with cogent clients, colleagues and stakeholders on a broad range of interesting projects. This is not always just architecture; working with our wide range of professional colleagues you will help solve the type of complex problems our clients need our support with.
Required Skills
Excellent numeracy and communication skills are essential for this position- you will review, write and illustrate print-ready reports and reporting forms.
You must have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of an established team.
You must be experienced in technical delivery in RIBA Stages 3-5.
