The Opportunity:

Tech2 Solutions (T2S) is a critical subcontractor on the N3B Los Alamos LLC team and will be providing program management and technical services in support of the ground & surface water monitoring program at the U.S. Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory.

T2S is adding a Drilling Field Team Lead. to support our operations in achieving N3B LLCC objectives. The selected candidate will ensure all activities and operations are performed safely and in compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, security, and operational excellence, including the authority to stop work if conditions are unsafe or security is compromised.

Your Role:

Drilling Program Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

  • Oversee drilling activities, including borehole cuttings collection, pipe tally tracking, drilling additive use, and groundwater sampling.
  • Act as the onsite Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) and Quality Assurance (QA) representative for drilling, well refurbishment, aquifer testing, wellhead completions, and abandonment projects.
  • Review and track subcontractor daily reports, support safety and quality audits, and contribute to lessons learned and event findings to ensure subcontractor compliance.

 

Essential Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

  • Assist in the preparation of key project documents, including the Project Readiness Process Procedure, Project Preparedness Plan, and Field Implementation Plan.
  • Coordinate site access, permitting, and event notifications with the ER Operations support team.
  • Maintain detailed technical logbooks of all field activities.
  • Provide detailed communication with the project management team.
  • Support construction efforts, including RFI responses, DCN updates, and completion report preparation.
  • Coordinate waste management and sampling for site and waste characterization.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and conduct random audits.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Science, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
  • Broad understanding of scientific principles, concepts, and techniques.
  • Strong ability to transcribe detailed field reports and disseminate accurate information.
  • Ability to perform complex professional tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to work within established policies and procedures, using independent judgment and ingenuity.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong communication, reasoning, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented project environment.
  • Familiarity with LANL site and work environment preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (Moderate Work)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

  • During drilling and well maintenance work on site, work often moves to a 7day/12hr (day & night) shift schedule in order to cover 24/7 drilling.
