Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Environmental Compliance Specialist to assist in growing Tetra Tech's Texas environmental business. Candidates must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. Candidate must also have the ability to independently manage a workload; travel as needed and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications is a requirement.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
• Interact with commercial/industrial clients to identify needs, collect data, develop and process solutions for task completion
• Prepare SPCC Plans, SWPPPs, and other compliance documents
• Assist Clients with waste management and associated reporting
• Manage project tasks and financials, and lead junior staff during projects
• Prepare and submit water related discharge permit applications
• Chemical management and reporting (Tier II, TRI reporting, etc.)
• Engage in diverse client projects that may involve multi-media knowledge including Air, Water, Waste, Hazardous Material Management, or Emergency Response/Prevention
• Develop proposals including scope of work and budgetary estimates
• Provide environmental due diligence support on acquisition and divestiture activities
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in the environmental industry or related environmental consulting experience
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel required, Applicant must possess excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
• Applicant must also be highly motivated; customer focused and work well in a team environment.
• Applicant must be able to drive and pass a motor vehicle records check. • Applicant must be eligible to work in the United States; this position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• CAD/GIS experience is a plus
Physical Requirements:
• Candidate must be able and available to travel via land and/or air and possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Some heavy lifting and the ability to walk and stand for extended periods is essential.
• Physical tasks include walking over uneven and vegetated terrain, carrying field equipment and coolers (up to 50 pounds), and occasional sampling activities.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• Work will be split between the office and field. Office work will be conducted at the Houston, Texas office.
• Travel requirements may include day-long projects that do not require overnight stays to multi-day field projects that do require overnight stays.
• Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, can occur in remote locations, could include areas of uneven terrain, and may require wearing FRC clothing and OSHA Level D PPE.

• Monday - Friday
• The position may require outdoor work as well as extended overnight travel from time to time.
