Your Role
The Environmental Scientist role involves managing large projects and supporting program/contract management. Candidate will be responsible for mentoring project and task managers, client service/account management, identifying and developing new business opportunities, and leading multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, analysts, and engineers.
Qualifications
5-10 years experience in environmental consulting, HazMat response, or a related field is required.
Strong emergency response and remediation management skills and the ability to respond quickly within a mandatory response time is required.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations is required.
Experience with remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality, ecological restoration, water resources are desirable. Previous experience working on EPA projects is a plus.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. They also must possess the ability to manage a heavy workload.
Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with MS Office applications are required. Expertise in training curriculum development and implementation is also desired.
Other desirable skills include: Being a self-starter with strong organizational management, communication, and technical writing abilities; analytical skills related to qualitative and quantitative data; information and data analysis, and; the ability to multi-task/manage multiple projects simultaneously.
This position requires driving on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good standing is required.
Degree / Certifications
Bachelor's of Science degree with a concentration in a physical science is required.
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and FEMA ICS-100 and 200 a plus.
Work Environment
The position's primary work environment is an office. The position will require occasional travel to client sites and other locations to conduct meetings, site visits, etc. Some occasional evening and/or weekend work and/or travel will be required.
