The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech's Infrastructure Division is seeking a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) to join our Winnipeg Water Group. This group undertakes a wide range of projects including the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure in urban, rural, and remote communities. Their work includes essential systems such as drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater treatment and conveyance as well as site grading, flood protection, drainage solutions and subdivision design. The successful candidate would be joining an exciting and fast-paced environment with excellent learning and growth potential.
This is a technical role at an intermediate level. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of engineering assignments, perform project management tasks, and will provide mentorship to junior practitioners. Candidates should have excellent technical skills, relevant industry experience, a drive to succeed, and effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership skills gained through participation in extra-curricular activities and/or volunteer work is an asset.

Your Role:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
¡ Design activities such as site grading, modelling and design of piped systems and overland drainage systems, performing engineering design calculations, developing construction plans and specifications, and estimating costs.
¡ Technical writing of deliverables such as technical memos, feasibility studies, engineering assessments and design reports.
¡ Use initiative and judgement to complete simple technical assignments independently and accurately.
¡ Assist with project management and proposal activities such as project coordination and proposal writing, as well as tracking of project scope, schedules and budgets.
¡ Construction support services, such as contract administration, project coordination, permitting, and budget management.
¡ Occasional field work for asset condition assessments, site inspections, and performance testing.
¡ University degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
¡ A minimum of five years of experience in municipal infrastructure, with a preference for direct industry experience in design of water distribution, wastewater collection and stormwater management systems.
¡ Excellent technical, analytical writing, and verbal communication skills.
¡ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel.
¡ Proficiency using AutoCAD and Civil 3D as design tools.
¡ Dynamic modeling experience with respect to technical analysis (EPANET, EPASWMM, InfoWorks, HECRAS etc.) will set you apart from your peer group.
