The opportunity

Tuvalu and Australia Partnership for Quality Education (TAPQE

The Tuvalu and Australia Partnership for Quality Education (TAPQE) Program aims to strengthen education sector performance and Australia's Pacific relationships, driving shared prosperity and progress. TAPQE has a focus on stronger literacy and numeracy outcomes; more equitable and relevant education pathways; and more inclusive, evidence-based and efficient government systems. The program requires unique delivery approaches to effectively address local challenges within a resource constrained operating environment impacted by the growing pressures of climate change.

Key responsibilities

As the JAWS Training Facilitator, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training sessions on the use of Job Access with Speech (JAWS), a screen reader program designed for individuals who are blind or have low vision. You will be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating training programs that empower users to navigate digital environments independently and efficiently, using JAWS.

  • Develop customised training materials, exercises and guides, aligned with learner needs.
  • Deliver engaging and effective JAWS training to individuals or groups with varying levels of experience
  • Assess learner progress and provide feedback and support throughout the training process.

Selection criteria

  • Proficient in the use of JAWS screen reader software
  • Experience facilitating training or workshops
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Certification or formal training in assistive technology is an advantage
