Your Role:
We are currently seeking a Junior/Intermediate Electrical Engineer (Protection & Controls) for our Power Division. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, drafting, and review of P&C systems for transmission and distribution projects.
- Prepare and update engineering drawings including single line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, communication diagrams, BOMs, and panel layouts.
- Perform basic protective relay calculations and fault studies under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support the creation of protective relay settings for transmission and distribution systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met.
- Contribute to ensuring designs comply with industry standards and project specifications.
- Participate in the review of designs from other team members to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Working experience in a consulting environment will be considered an asset
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 1-6 years of relevant experience in P&C design and drafting for transmission and distribution projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience in MicroStation is an asset.
- Familiarity with protective relaying, control systems, and equipment for substations up to 500kV.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and electrical design standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with excellent communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for learning and professional growth.
