The Opportunity

  • Full-time position until 30 June 2027
  • Location: Port Moresby, PNG
  • Reserved for PNG citizens only

Position Overview: Reporting to the MERL Manager, the MEL Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the implementation of data collection, analysis and reporting for the program to ensure quality monitoring and evaluation results. The role supports continuous improvement, quality delivery, and maximizes program outcomes by ensuring robust data management and meaningful MEL activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of a high-quality Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Framework and Plan for AAPNG
  • Provide support and guidance to components to fulfill their MEL responsibilities associated with the Australia Awards, including indicator monitoring, awardee surveys, awardee monitoring, tracer studies and reintegration.
  • Maintain the AAPNG MEL indicator tracking sheet, collaborating with components to ensure the quality and integrity of data is maintained at all times.
  • Oversee awardee and alumni databases to ensure quality data and implement agreed elements of the continuous improvement and learning activities specified in the MERL framework and plan.Oversee awardee and alumni databases – including but not limited to OASIS and the program's MIS database – to ensure quality data and implement agreed elements of the continuous improvement and learning activities specified in the MERL framework and plan.
  • Plan and coordinate reliable and valid routine and adhoc monitoring and evaluation activities (for example, post award surveys),, producing high quality reports in accordance with the MERL Framework and Plan, and client requirements.
  • Champion all activities addressing GEDSI principles and objectives
  • Lead by example and contribute to the development of a program culture that adheres to the Tetra Tech Values and Behaviours
  • Other duties from time to time, as may be reasonably requested by DFAT and Tetra Tech

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Undergraduate qualification in administration, project management, communications, education and/or human resources development or an equivalent combination of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation in an international development context.
  • Proven capacity in using quantitative and qualitative methodologies;
  • Proven information and technology skills in data input, collection, filtering analysis with a high degree of accuracy and reporting;
  • Strong organisation and time management skills including the ability to manage competing tasks in a timely manner;
  • Experience in report writing
  • Strong computer skills using all Microsoft Office 365 applications
