Your Role:
Tetra Tech is seeking a Licensed Professional Surveyor to be a part of our Brighton Michigan Survey Group. The Survey Group primarily supports infrastructure design, environmental, and land development projects for project managers situated in our Michigan and Ohio offices. We are looking for an individual that is highly motivated and experienced and is familiar with field equipment and processing software. Excellent communication and organizational skills will be important to mesh with our current team and to contribute on large multidimensional projects. We currently utilize some of the most modern equipment and software from Riegl, Leica, Trimble, Microstation/Microsurvey, and Autodesk. We are a department that highly values in-person, in-office teamwork, but also equips staff to work independently. - Work directly with Project Managers and Surveyors to develop work plans, budgets, schedules and contracts.
- Ascertain client deliverable requirements, build specifics into work plans, and guide staff in meeting accuracy and content standards.
- Provide direct guidance and support to CAD operators and crew chiefs.
- Develop and refine Health & Safety Plans in conjunction with Project Managers & clients and implement with field staff.
- Contribute primarily in-office, with occasional presence at project locations.
- Build department understanding of software's in-use, refine processing steps, and implement changes.
- Prepare drawings, create, and modify drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicrostationORD.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or set of completed coursework) in Surveying/Engineering/Geomatics sufficient to carry out aforementioned roles, and to qualify to sit for licensure exams.
- Professional Licensure in the State of Michigan
- At least four years' experience as a Licensed Land Surveyor that includes responsible charge of field/cad staff.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicrostationORD proficiency.
- Experience in legal boundary determinations, principles of boundary survey low, and proficiency tapping into repositories of legal documents.
- Experience in route surveys, alignment analysis/determination, and completing MDOT projects.
- Experience managing construction support surveys at the municipal level, or for private construction firms.
- Experience with data processing software, such as Leica Infinity, Trimble Business Center, MicroSurvey StarNET, and Riegl Riscan PRO.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet changing conditions & priorities.
- Equally comfortable contributing in group settings and independently.
