Your Role:

 

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator in our Pickering, ON office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Project Support person that will provide day-to-day support activities to the Project Manager. Projects are initiated by a senior higher-level Project Manager or assistant Project Manager and are assigned to this level to plan, execute and close.  Work is informally reviewed at regular intervals or at project key milestones.  Project may be formally reviewed at close and in conjunction with performance appraisals.  Understands the working relationship between the team composition, particularly the engineering, procurement, construction management, and project controls/services functions

 

Responsibilities:

·         Becomes completely familiar with all project contractual documents.

·         Review project to understand project scope, project safety, required training and resources.

·         Support the development of a project plan in consultation with higher-level project manager.

·         Selects and uses, based on complexity, appropriate project management tools and techniques to accomplish the project goals and objectives.

·         Coordinates project team towards project execution.

·         Supports the development of work breakdown structures, network diagrams, project schedules, and cost estimates.

·         Identifies potential risks and difficulties, and design strategies to mitigate or avoid them.

·         Obtains bids from subcontractors and coordinates project cost estimates.

·         Assists in establishing with clients and team members appropriate procedures to capture and deal with changes in original project plan.

·         Reviews plans and procedures periodically to recommend changes as necessary

·         Helps coordinate the activities of project teams to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget and with the desired quality.

·         Monitors progress of work assignments, coordinates project changes; updates project schedules and budgets as necessary based upon input  from the project manager.

·         Coordinates project steps to ensure participation of project team members.

·         Monitors and tracks project budget, schedule and performance.

·         Ensures that required procedural steps are completed on time.

·         Informs others of progress.

·         Administers project contracts and monitors and evaluates contractor performance.

·         Recommends changes to project plan in response to unforeseen changes or results.

·         Obtains approvals to proposed changes in project scope, quality, budget, or schedule.

·         Reviews project records and prepares project archive documentation.

·         Monitors project finances in conjunction with Project Services.

·         Delivers planned profit for the project.

·         Meets or exceeds project metrics approved by management for the fiscal year.

·         Executes project in compliance with Tetra Tech PM/QMS procedures as identified in the Project Life Cycle.

·         Effective in verbal and written communication within team and with client representatives

·         Compiles and distributes project information.

·         Provides project details, goals and processes on an as-needed basis.

·         Explains project methodology and processes to team members and co-ordinates training.

·         Schedules and supports the leading of meetings to gather input, explain project issues, meet procedural requirements, and gain co-operation both internally and externally.

Qualifications:

 

·         A university degree in engineering. Other professional qualifications will be considered with relevant experience

·         Working experience in principles and practices of power/energy engineering as applied to design and construction of projects is preferred.

·         Experience with industry related scheduling systems (MS Project, Primavera).

·         Experienced in the use of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

·         Demonstrated experience in developing project execution plans and budgets.

·         Has experience in the preparation of proposals for clients.

·         Effective communication, organization and presentation skills

 

 

Additional Information

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
