The Opportunity:

LDIS LLC, a Tetra Tech Company, provides integrated engineering and design solutions for the Energy, Petrochem, Renewables, Water Treatment and Life Sciences markets and is looking to hire a Project Engineer V to join our team in our Arvada, CO office.   Our team meets these changing needs by being a trusted partner to each of our clients.  In addition to conventional facility solutions and designs, our projects include Hydrogen Electrolysis, Ammonia Production Facilities, Renewable Natural Gas Processing, Emissions Reduction Studies, Carbon Capture and Sequestration, wastewater, pharmaceuticals, and much more.

Your Role:

Project Engineers are typically apprentice or Professional Engineers tasked to manage all aspects of a project(s) from conception to completion. The daily responsibilities include technical expertise, client interaction, team coordination, overall communication, and reporting of scope, schedule, and budget expectations internally to the project team.

 Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed project scope documents, design basis, project execution plan for projects.
  • Integrates all disciplines (engineering, design, procurement, document control, project controls, construction, and QA/QC) to ensure the project is aligned technically and commercially.
  • Ensure technical requirements defined in the project scope documents, design basis and execution plan are properly incorporated in the engineering deliverables.
  • Collaborates with Project Controls on project administration (scheduling, estimating, cost management, staffing, schedule management etc) so that project resources are optimized, and project metrics are met.
  • Works with document control to maintain accurate and current project documentation.
  • Participates in technical reviews to ensure detailed engineering meets engineering standards. Lead and participate in periodic project status meetings with the client.
  • Lead and participate in typical design development meetings including, but not limited to constructability reviews, 3D model reviews, process hazard analysis sessions, and engineering alignment sessions.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and approval of engineering design reports.
  • Act as responsible engineer within the field of professional registration for projects you lead.
  • Oversee the review of equipment technical bid submissions.
  • Report to the Project Manager on budget and schedule for engineering tasks.
  • Reinforce quality and safety standards.  Perform quality assurance function for work products before they are submitted to Client.
  • Provide liaison services between engineering and construction. Attend bid meetings or bid walks for the major construction contracts on the assigned projects. Provide bid conferences review and scope compliance analysis of the contractor proposals.  Coordinate engineering assessment of field requests on construction packages.

Qualifications:

  • Seeking experienced Project Engineers with a minimum 20+ years' experience in a similar role. Project Engineers are expected to coordinate and internally manage multidiscipline project teams to complete unlimited projects at a difficult complexity level.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • PE Registration recommended.
  • PM Training preferred.
  • Demonstrate innovative knowledge in energy industry experience.
  • Interface with Project Controls staff at an expert level.
  • Demonstrate advanced level knowledge in coordinating workflow and can work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, designers, and contractors.
  • Required experience in mentoring and fostering a positive team environment while promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Risk management and problem-solving skills to address challenges as they arise during projects.
  • Knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and reach agreements with clients and subcontractors.

Salary Range: Starting at $166,920+ depending on level of experience, education & location.
