Position Summary:
The Rule of Law Interns will support various aspects of project implementation. The Interns will contribute to both the technical and operational aspects of the Promoting Rule of Law (PROLA) Project. This role will undertake a variety of tasks such as conducting surveys, engaging in research, coordinating logistics, overseeing events and visits, managing information and technology systems, processing data, financial management and human resources. The Interns will work closely with project staff, learn about USAID projects, and play a vital role in the implementation of various project activities. All applicants must include a cover letter and at least three references with their CV. This position is paid on an hourly basis and requires a six-month commitment with the possibility of extending.
Responsibilities:
- Rotate between the operations and the technical departments to become familiar with both aspects of project implementation.
- Participate in operations-related tasks, such as purchasing procedures, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Work closely with supervisors to assess progress, transcribe meeting notes, and draft reports.
- Participate in staff and team meetings actively , contribute to work planning, and engage in reflective sessions.
- Conduct targeted research to support technical activities and participate in drafting deliverables.
- Help incorporate client and leadership comments and feedback into reports.
- Support the launch of the grant program by collecting, reviewing, classifying, and archiving the project proposal submissions.
- Support the setup of web conferencing and other online collaborative workspaces as requested.
- Update documents, forms, and trackers to ensure visibility of activities across the project.
- Assist in drafting and/or proofreading internal and external email communications, letters, presentations, and other related content.
- Contribute to communications efforts, including content creation, knowledge sharing and outreach activities.
- Assist in the preparation of project financial reporting and perform other tasks as assigned by Finance Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in law, political science, social sciences, data science, economics, finance, public administration, or a related field is required.
- No minimum years of work experience required.
- Demonstrated interest in judicial reform, anti-corruption, equitable access to justice, inclusive development, CSO management, grants management, and/or data science required.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office software packages/applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, is required.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel is preferred.
- Fluency in written and spoken French required. Proficiency in English is preferred.
