Your Role:

Entry Level Scientist with zero to 2 years of experience in the field of geology or environmental science to join our team currently serving both industrial and government clients.

 Responsibilities: 

·         This position will have field and non-field related responsibilities.  Position requires a minimum of 75 percent field work and/or travel including extended days of overnight travel.   Significant, extended days of travel throughout the State of GA is required.

·         The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform field work, including lifting and maneuvering of equipment and filled sample coolers, in a range of weather conditions.

·         Typical tasks will include field work planning and preparation, drilling and monitoring well installation oversight, logging soil boreholes, remedial system implementation (e.g., subsurface injections) and operation and maintenance, and report preparation including text, tables, and figures. Field work will also consist of the collection and proper documentation of soil and groundwater samples to define the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination.

·         Responsibilities may include preparation of remedial investigation, remedial system design, feasibility studies, remedial action plans, groundwater monitoring plans and reports; cost estimating; and technical writing.

·         Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.

·         Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.

·         Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

·         Other responsibilities could include managing subcontracts, monitoring project cost and schedule performance; supervision of more junior personnel and assisting in business development/marketing efforts as part of a team.

·         Other duties may be assigned as determined appropriate by the supervisor based on level of experience.

 Qualifications:

·         Candidates must have a BS degree in geology, science, or related technical discipline.

·         0-2 years of experience

·         Field experience, if any, should include soil logging and sampling, installation of soil borings and monitoring wells, and aquifer testing.

·         Experience in performing hazardous waste site investigations and various types of sampling, including low-flow groundwater sampling, surface water, sediment, soil, subsurface vapor, and air sampling is desired; remediation experience is a plus. 

·         Experience performing Phase I and Phase II ESAs a plus.

·         40-Hour OSHA training with Hazmat is a plus. 30-Hour OSHA Construction Contractor certification is a plus. First Aid and CPR training are a plus.
