The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is looking for a full-time, Senior Environmental Technician to work at an emergency response readiness center.

Your Role:
The selected candidate will help maintain emergency response readiness. This includes: 
•    Calibrate equipment, equipment maintenance, procurement (of new equipment, parts, general office supplies), schedule annual calibrations, coordination and pulling of equipment for field work. 
•    Inventory checks and management.
•    Towing trailers, managing vehicles (including scheduled maintenance)
•    Warehouse equipment assembly (such as putting up shelving or taking it down).
•    Help set up trainings.
•    Support the development of training courses and exercises utilizing Adult Learning Methods.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 12 years of applicable experience and will be / have:
•    Familiar with the use, maintenance and calibration of environmental monitoring instruments, piping, pumps, motors, and personal protective equipment and instruments. 
•    Experience in planning, conducting, and providing expertise in specialized technical areas such as training and exercise development for the contract. 
•    Demonstrate the ability to develop and apply new and/or unique methods, approaches, and procedures for the readiness center. 
•    Experience with procurement, facility management, vehicle fleet management, inventory management, and basic administrative tasks are essential. 
•    Experience working on federal contracts, trailer towing, and forklift experience are preferred but not required.

 

You must also have experience with/be:
•    Strong technical background in environmental sampling and knowledge of monitoring equipment use and repair.
•    Emergency Response Preparedness is a plus.
•    Hazardous materials is preferred.
•    Demonstrated ability to develop and apply new and/or unique methods, approaches, and procedures.
•    Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment
•    Able to perform tasks without a lot of oversight. 
•    Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills
•    Strong attention to details and good observation skills.
•    Ability to document notes in a electronic forms. 
•    Multimedia sampling skills are a plus.

This position requires:
•    Driving on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
•    A criminal background check.

Degree / Certifications
•    High school diploma required.
•    Associate degree preferred.
•    Certifications are a plus.

Work Environment
Work will be 100% in a warehouse and office environment. You must be able to:
•    Drive vehicles to nearby vendors for regularly scheduled maintenance. 
•    Bend and lift equipment up to 50 pounds is a required.
•    Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

The Salary Range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
