Summary:

The candidate will be primarily responsible for developing, managing and performing projects  and managing staff for mining, abandoned mine reclamation, civil, water/wastewater, oil and gas, and environmental projects in a new Tetra Tech OGA office in eastern KY.  Projects will involve site investigations, surveying, engineering studies, and designs related to abandoned mine reclamation, mining, civil, water/wastewater, oil and gas and environmental projects.  Knowledge of mining geology and site development is a plus.  The candidate may also be requested to support other project programs such as construction management, watershed restoration, and alternative energy projects.

Your Role:

Will report to and work with a Tetra Tech Legacy Coal Restoration Lead, in cooperation with other Tetra Tech offices, to develop and implement business development strategies; position for bidding opportunities; and prepare proposals, qualification statements, and develop and give oral presentations.  Is also expected to serve as a senior project manager, office manager, and technical lead for some of the projects won and, therefore, must have the relevant technical and management skills to successfully manage and perform the type of projects described above.  Some overnight travel is required.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in an Engineering or Geology discipline or related field is required. Advanced degree is desirable. P.E. or P.G. is preferred. 
  • 10 or more years of experience in relevant project management, resource/administrative management, business development, and technical assignments and responsibilities. 
  • Recent experience working with abandoned mine reclamation, mining, civil, water/wastewater, oil and gas, or other environmental projects is required.
  • Technical experience with all phases of permitting and other relevant activities related to mining, abandoned mine reclamation, and oil and gas development; potable water and wastewater treatment; site surveying, project design; and civil/mining construction projects.
  • High levels of written and oral communication skills are required to knowledgeably discuss relevant technical topics with existing and potential clients and perform project tasks.
  • Computer skills must include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. 
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
