Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Senior Right of Way/Land and Utilities Agent to join our very stable and growing Transportation engineering team based in Alberta.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and have demonstrated experience managing a diverse range of projects of varying scope and size for federal, provincial, municipal, developer, and First Nations clients.

Your Role:

Work alongside a team of Project Managers, Engineers and Designers on projects, from inception through construction for

    • Utility coordination and crossing/proximity agreements
      • 3rd Party Crossing agreements
      • Manage utility relocations
      • Acquire cost estimates for planning
    • Land Acquisitions (Private and Crown lands)
      • Access approvals
      • Easements
      • Land purchasing
      • Access removals and relocations
      • Borrow agreements
      • Individual Ownership Plans (IOPs)
    • First Nations / Indigenous Consultations / Engagement
      • Community meetings
      • Information packages. 

 

This position offers the opportunity to work with a team of experienced project managers, engineers and technologists, supported by our geotechnical and environmental specialists, to deliver highway, roadway, and municipal projects, as well lead First Nations and Indigenous consultation. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Providing input to proposals, reports, preliminary and detailed designs, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Collaborating on projects with other professionals, including Project Managers, Engineers/Designers, Geotechnical Engineers, Environmental Scientists, and Planners.
  • Planning projects, developing accurate scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Liaising with team members, clients, consultants, sub-consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, and contractors.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Assisting project teams involved in planning, design and construction work.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to other team members.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Participating in business development activities.
  • Additional duties as required.

  

Qualifications - External

  • Must be licenced and in good standing with the appropriate registrations holding the title as a SR/WA.
  • Must be a licensed Land Agent for the Province of Alberta.
  • Must be a Commissioner for Oaths in and for Alberta.

  

  • Minimum of 15 years related experience in Alberta.
  • Experience working in/on P3/DB Design pursuits will be preferred.
  • Proven experience with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors and Provincial Guidelines as well as municipal and First Nations clients.
  • Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents.
  • Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Experience or aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, client development, and other skills appropriate to consulting
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
