The Opportunity:

Our Denver Operation is currently adding a Strategic Communications Specialist (Mid-level) to support a variety of energy, environmental, and infrastructure projects in a dynamic environmental consulting environment. This position requires knowledge and understanding of strategic communications, public outreach, and community engagement. Knowledge about energy infrastructure projects, NEPA, and environmental justice is preferred but not a requirement.

 

The role will support the Strategic Communications Lead with development and implementation of public outreach and strategic communications strategies, and establishing and maintaining a professional relationship with clients, subcontractors, jurisdictions, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.

 

This position is located in Denver, CO. Work schedules can be in-person, hybrid, and remote.

Your Role:

·         Design and implement community engagement and stakeholder relations strategies.

·         Develop strategic communications materials to support energy, environmental, and infrastructure projects that explain complex concepts in plain language for diverse audiences.

·         Contribute to business development for strategic communications, energy, and environmental projects.

·         Develop new client accounts; work with existing Tetra Tech account managers and the Energy Program market leads to expand existing client accounts.

·         Serve as a Project Manager for strategic communications projects and strategic communications Subject Matter Expert on projects managed by others.

·         Manage multi-disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget.

·         Contribute to presentation, cut sheet, fact sheet, and other marketing material development.

·         Support and collaborate with other team members for in-person and virtual public meetings and stakeholder meetings.

·         Review deliverables for grammar, style (e.g., AP or Chicago style), tone, branding, and consistency with client brand standards.

·         Track, measure, and analyze efficacy of strategic communications approaches.

·         Have strong critical thinking capabilities and a flexible approach to problem solving.

·         Have demonstrated writing abilities, competency with basic business computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office), and possess the ability to act independently.

 

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's Degree in communications, public affairs, public relations, political science, or journalism preferred.

·         A Bachelor's degree in another discipline may be considered with directly applicable experience.

·         8-10 years of demonstrated work experience performing similar tasks.

·         Project management experience is required.

·         Demonstrated ability writing for diverse audiences.

·         Understanding of strategic communications concepts and best practices.

·         Superior written and verbal communications skills.

·         Ability to act independently, have a strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and a proven commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks, coordinate effectively with others, and work collaboratively.

·         Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced consulting environment.

·         Understanding of content management systems (e.g., WordPress).

·         Willingness and ability to travel locally or occasionally nationally as needed (less than 10%).

·         Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) a plus.

·         Understanding of the development and construction of energy infrastructure projects is a plus.

·         Knowledge of NEPA, environmental justice, and/or utility-scale energy systems a plus.

·         Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year

 

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the described role, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

 

A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
