Main Function:
- Assists in the nonprofessional and clerical aspects of managing and operating the outpatient functions of the department.
- All medication-associated duties are performed under the direct supervision of licensed personnel (Registered Pharmacists).
Required Job Specific Competencies:
- Demonstrates skill in daily communication including effectively gathering and disseminating information.
- Demonstrates flexibility in decision-making and prioritizing assignments.
- Demonstrates skill on proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Information Systems (Pharmacy) and QS/1 (pharmacy outpatient system), as well as the ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Provides customer service and support in a manner consistent with the health system's goals and expectations.
- Cashier/POS Delivery: Retrieves order, verifies patient information, rings out orders, and opening/closing procedures.
- Electronic Medical Record: Adds patient information to computer, inputs prescriptions into computer, processes refills and refill requests, basic insurance billing.
- Filling/Preparation of Medication: Basic insurance billing, measures and fills containers with medications, ensures proper medication storage, re-stocks shelves.
- Performs a variety of routine duties requiring the use of some judgement.

Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalency required.
- Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.
- NYS Pharmacy Technician license preferred.
- 1-2 years pharmacy experience preferred.
Pay Range: $17.61 - $21.00
Starting Pay: Based on experience
