Summary of Job Duties: The Advanced Practice Provider will assist the Neurology faculty on the inpatient unit. The APP will see patients in consultation with the Neurology faculty while coordinating clinical services with physicians and nurses from other related specialties at UAMS (e.g., emergency department, surgery, neurosurgery, radiology, and residents). The APP will be familiar with departmental protocols and policies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing – Acute Care APRN
Three (3) years of nursing experience.
Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
APRN License
Nursing experience in an ICU or Neurology preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
DNP
3 years of nursing experience
3 years of APRN experience in an ICU or Neurology unit

Job Requirements:
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical exams
Diagnose acute and chronic illnesses
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging)
Prescribe medications and treatments (scope varies by state)
Develop and manage treatment plans
Provide preventive care and health education
Manage chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension)
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans
Coordinate care with physicians and specialists
Provide counseling and patient advocacy
