Summary of Job Duties: THIS POSITION WILL WORK FOUR 10 HOUR SHIFTS (Sun-Wed OR Wed-Sat).

The Licensed Master Social Worker at the Psychiatric Research Institute's adult inpatient units functions in the role assisting the patient and family and interdisciplinary team through the care episode. Primary duties in addition to any discharge planning activities include individual, group, and family therapy to the adult population, communicating with the patients, assisting in the development of a specific treatment plan that reflects the therapeutic intervention to address the patient's needs. Provides services through the Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Must be licensed by the Arkansas Professional Board – Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of work experience in the behavioral health field
  • Required CPI upon hire; CPR before hire

Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, or licensed certified social worker, provides psychosocial assistance to patients and families in the areas of financial challenges, local housing, transportation, food, and prescribed medications.

  • Intervenes in crises to assist clients and conducts assessments to determine needs. ​

  • Investigates child abuse or neglect cases and takes authorized protective action when necessary.

  • Assists patients and families with education, coping strategies, adjustment to disease, grief response, and acute or chronic mental health issues.

  • Organizes patient support groups and advocates for patients within the community.

  • Refers clients to community or social service programs and educational or work programs.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.
