Summary of Job Duties: The Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager will ensure all regulatory compliance with state, federal, and contractual agreements related to Specialty Pharmacy and meeting accreditation standards for URAC/ACHC. This position will be responsible for the various specialty pharmacy accreditation applications, as well as, maintenance of these accreditations including policies and procedures, quality improvement programs, reporting and other metrics. This position will also provide direct oversight of Specialty Pharmacy Student Employees and will be responsible for the department's continuing education program, staff onboarding, aiding in IPPE/APPE rotation development, and ongoing staff education. This position will also be responsible for starting a PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy Leadership and Administration position, ensuring accreditation through ASHP, and acting as the Residency Site Coordinator.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or a BS Pharmacy Degree

  • 5 years applicable experience

  • Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist in the State of Arkansas or eligible for licensure.

  • Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) (or certified within two years of hire)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PGY1, PGY2 completion

  • Experience in the specialty pharmacy accreditation process or general specialty pharmacy experience. Experience with acting as a Residency Site Coordinator.

  • Board Certified (CSP)

Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with senior leadership to direct and manage an area of expertise within the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Service Line. Monitors, investigates, and analyzes program area to ensure compliance with goals.

  • Gathers data and staff input, solicits and collaborates with vendors, and researches and reviews industry standards to meet technical goals and improve program performance. Reviews and revises institutional policies and guidelines related to program area.

  • Manages a small team to ensure daily pharmacy program area operations are efficiently and accurately executed.

  • Supports Pharmacy management by providing research, acting as liaison in legal matters, updating documentation and reports and assisting with staff training and enrichment.

  • Serves on committees and as subject matter expert to represent program area across departments as UAMS.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
