Registered Nurse (RN) Patient LogisticsPRN

• The RN Patient Logistics will evaluate all requested admissions to ICCU, utilizing Interquel criteria to assess the appropriateness of
placement in an ICCU unit. The RN Patient Logistics will also evaluate for insurance pre-authorization on all direct admit patients
who are being admitted for surgical procedures, chemo, or any other procedure which required insurance pre-authorization. In the
event that pre-authorization has not been obtained, the RN Patient Logistics will email the preceptor and document in Notes B. The
RN Patient Logistics is also responsible for assessing EC bed requests for observation after 5 pm and weekends, as well as, assessing
other EC inpatient bed requests for appropriate bed placement and documenting changes in level of care in the EC Admit log.
Additional responsibilities include: documenting all accepted Regional Transfers in INET, functioning as the RN clinical advisor for
the Regional Transfer Center and Patient Placement Center, documentation in EM Systems as required and as needed for changes
in the hospital environment. The RN Patient Logistics is expected to have a working knowledge of bed priority and level of care, as
well as a basic knowledge of the Teletracking system.
Qualifications
-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
-Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
-Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
-BSN Required
-Minimum of 4 years of Nursing experience
