The Medical Lab Technician Assistant (MLT) is a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is in at Union Health.
The Lab Services provides services related to lab tests, including specimen collection of the patients, and accessioning, lab tests performed on specimens, recording of lab test results, delivery of lab test results and more.

Medical Lab Assistant (MLT) Details
Essential Job Duties:
- Follows policies under supervision.
- Performs, reports lab tests.
- Evaluates specimens, prepares, labels.
- Maintains knowledge, records, transmits results.
- Implements QC, calibrates, troubleshoots.
- Assists in training, maintains confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in Bachelor's or Associate degree program focused on laboratory science or medical technology, or completion of military medical laboratory training as a Medical Laboratory Specialist
- Preferably certified by ASCP, AMT, or NCA, or eligible; CLIA 1988 compliance within 6 months
- Understanding of basic physiology, appropriate test selection, and interpretation of abnormal results
