Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Senior Client Services Manager, provide day to day supervision and leadership to the Client Services Team. Provide administrative support for staff, faculty, residents and students in a 24/7 clinical facility. Responsible for personnel actions such as recruitment, hiring, training, evaluation and disciplinary actions. Determine staffing level requirements, training and deployment.

 

RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Front office experience in a veterinary (small animal practice) or medical field.
  • Experience with cash control, billing and collections.
  • Management, leadership and supervisory skills to effectively motivate employees, determine and prioritize workflow, implement change, evaluate job performance, implement corrective action, teambuilding and conflict resolution.
  • Strong customer service orientation with skills to resolve and defuse customer concerns.
  • Interpersonal oral and written skills to communicate diplomatically and professionally with a wide variety of people in a hectic environment.
  • Organizational skills to manage & prioritize multiple tasks and time lines and to adapt to constantly shifting priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, human resources, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with automated business/accounting management and systems including resource management and revenue cycle as well as computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Experience in the veterinary industry and veterinary medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of the veterinary industry and veterinary medical terminology.
  • Ability to help define, troubleshoot and implement system and policy changes.

Department Overview

The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) is a unit that provides medical care for patients on a 24-hour basis. We support the teaching programs throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine which has a primary objective to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; and to provide veterinary services to the public.
