The selected individual will use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, UCI policies and procedures to research, analyze and develop solutions to a wide range of program issues. They will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, and apply project management skills and tools to lead and manage the SCRC training programs. This position is anticipated to be on-site full time. Reporting to the SCRC Academic Coordinator and academic program faculty leadership, the Education Program Administrator will: • Assist the Academic Coordinator in management, planning, and execution of grant-funded research educational training program activities, including but not limited to seminars, symposiums, workshops, and retreats. • Be the point of contact for trainees, mentors, and leadership involved with SCRC training programs • Collect and analyze data for internal reporting to SCRC leadership • Assist with preparation and submission of internal and external reports • Plan proactively to manage workload and execute program activities by participating in monthly strategic planning meetings for research educational programs. • Refer to funding sponsor, UCI, and SCRC policies and procedures for guidance • Participate in planning committees and working groups. Provide strategy development for organizational, research initiatives, and/or grant-funded program activities. Collect program feedback to be used to improve programmatic activities for next cycles and incorporate any changes at the direction of the Academic Coordinator. • Assist in consolidating data from applications and surveys, summarize the findings and provide reports to program directors and/or managers to help develop and improve research educational training programs. Support academic coordinator in communicating changes to executive committees, review committees and funding agencies. • Provide administrative support, planning and execution in already established research educational programs • Participate in weekly Education Pillar meetings. Must also be prepared to report on any updates on assigned projects and tasks • Provide support in the streamlining of all research educational programs

- 2-3 years of experience in planning and execution of academic programming
- 2-3 years of experience in administration and reporting for NIH and/or CIRM training grant programs
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
- Analytical / problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- Must have exceptional time management skills and effective communication skills
Preferred:
- Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses. Strong policy analysis techniques.
Special Conditions Required:
- Requires occasional work outside normal working hours for seminars, conferences, events, and to meet reporting or other deadlines
