Position Summary:
  The Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) provides services and support to over 50,000 students, faculty, and staff with the mission of advancing UCI's brilliant future and the vision of becoming world-class campus partners. DFA serves the university as planning partners, problem solvers, and solution providers—striving to make it as easy as possible for people to get the services they need, when they need them. UCI Transportation and Distribution Services oversees all transportation planning, parking, and mail services at the University of California, Irvine. UCI Transportation has an environmental commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from all vehicles traveling on and around the UCI campus. This commitment to reduce costs and emissions is at the heart of every program and service offered to the UCI campus community.
  Under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent will assist with front desk operations, customer service, permit sales, cash handling/deposit, and payroll deduction reconciliation. The incumbent will also assist with maintaining inventory of equipment, coordinate services with appropriate partners/vendors, and provide general support for Transportation and Distribution Services operations.

  Required:  
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or 2 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate skills and abilities to recognize and protect confidential issues and effectively exercise discretion in dealing with controversial or sensitive information. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
     
Preferred:  
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to establish effective workload priorities to meet deadlines with minimal supervision or direction to complete assignments in an environment with frequent interruptions and distractions. 
  • Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external staff and to better achieve the goals and objectives of the department 
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to independently analyze and triage issues. 
  • Ability to interact diplomatically with diverse personalities including staff, faculty, students, visitors, and people at all levels of the administrative hierarchy. 
  • Proficient in applying various software programs including MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Ability to learn new software, as necessary. Proficient word processing skills to quickly/accurately produce letters, memos, and standard office documents 
  • Ability to think analytically and critically to identify issues and information requirements; detail oriented 
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to parking 
  • Previous experience in the parking industry 
  • Knowledge of Parking's online systems such as EPICS, Antpark, myCommute and When to Work. 
  • Knowledge of campus layout, lots and pedestrian routes. 
  • Knowledge of hand-held radio use. 
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, and University policies related to purchasing, buying and finance.
