Job Details
• 36 or 48 Hour Contract
• 5 West is a 40-bed non specialty med-surg unit caring for patients ages 18 and older.
• The staff cares for a variety of medical and telemetry patients with acute and/or chronic illness, such as sepsis, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, cardiac disease, and COVID-19.
• Staff members will manage titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, post-bariatric procedures, high oxygen delivery systems and end-of-life care.
• 5 West will begin piloting a team-based care delivery model in January 2025.
• Team based care is a group of licensed and unlicensed healthcare professionals working towards a common goal to care for a group of patients.
• Team based care delivery model consists of Lead Nurses, bedside Registered Nurses, Virtual Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Nursing Assistants.
• Virtual nurses perform administrative tasks that require an RN license but do not require physical presence.
• Team based care promotes teamwork, communication, and leadership.

Job Requirements
• 2 years of prior MS/Telemetry experience preferred.
• Must have large, urban hospital experience.
• Drips are required on all floors.
• Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital experience required.
• First timers NOT accepted unless traveler has 2+ years of trauma experience.
• BLS required.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs.
• 100% NICOTINE FREE FACILITY.
• Pending license accepted: Yes, but if license is not IN HAND at the time of submission then traveler will be booked six weeks out.

Schedule Information
• Float is required.
• Ratios: Days 1:8; Nights 1:9.
• RTO restrictions: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted.
• RTO must be submitted with application.
• Additional requests after confirmation at manager discretion.
• Weekend Requirement: Two weekends in a four-week schedule period.
