The JSOM Career Development Specialist (CDS) will utilize their corporate/professional expertise about corporate recruiting and hiring cycles/timelines to provide career coaching services to undergraduate and graduate students.

Bachelor's Degree. Three to five years in corporate/business experience.

  • MBA or Master's degree in a business-related discipline.
  • Two or more years of experience in campus recruiting and/or corporate or business-related roles.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and emerging job search tools, including AI platforms such as ChatGPT.
  • Experience with or strong interest in leveraging social media platforms (e.g., Canva, Instagram, LinkedIn, and blogs) for professional branding and student engagement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Career Development Specialist (CDS) will provide individual and group career coaching services, conduct resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, LinkedIn and networking strategies, and more.
  • Provide individual and group career coaching and counseling regarding internships, networking strategies, and professional readiness.
  • Create professional development content and resources for the CMC website, workshops, and MAS 6102 curriculum.
  • Build relationships with select JSOM academic degree programs and program directors to develop targeted career resources, events, and workshops to increase undergraduate and graduate student participation and improve internship/job readiness. For example, professional development programming for undergraduate transfer students, veterans, DMHP undergraduate honors students, and professional programs in accounting, finance, and more.
  • Collaborate with the JSOM CMC Corporate Relations Team for events and to develop full-time and internship opportunities for students.
  • Coordinate events and workshops with employers to educate students about career paths and internship and job opportunities.
  • Create weekly content and flyers using Canva for the CMC website and social media to promote employer events and professional development services to students.

Remote Work Notice
A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly). Employees must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
