The West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery and WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute are seeking a Spine Neurosurgeon (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV. We will offer a full service neurosurgery practice at Wheeling Hospital. We continue to expand, and the demand for our services is high. Two WVU Medicine neurosurgeons are currently in the practice, and they have a clinical faculty appointment among the 26 neurosurgeons that constitute the Department of Neurosurgery.

The successful candidate will practice in the area of general neurosurgery. In particular, the region will expand a Level 2 neurotrauma service over the next few years in connection with the tertiary neurosurgical services provided in Morgantown, WV, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Additional training in neurotrauma or critical care will be advantageous, although not required. Wheeling Hospital is continuing to invest and grow support for trauma and critical care services in addition to general neurosurgical spine care in the region.

Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and must be eligible for state medical licensure. Candidates must have completed a neurosurgery residency program and must be BE/BC in neurosurgery. All qualifications must be met by time of appointment.
