Employment Status: Part Time

Working Hours: 24-32 hours a week

Shift: 3rd Shift (10pm-6am, rotating weekends)

Position Reports to: Radiology & Imaging Services Manager                      

Department Description: Wilson Health's Radiology and Imaging Services Department performs diagnostic tests that doctors request to help make a more accurate diagnosis. At Wilson, we use a variety of imaging technologies (Bone Density Testing, CT Scans, CT Heart Screening with Calcium Scoring, 3d Digital Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Ultrasounds, and X-Rays) to help us obtain detailed views of our patient's internal anatomies, to minimize the need for invasive diagnostic surgery. The department is staffed with highly-trained radiology personnel and several board-certified radiologists, who are trained to read in specific, diagnostic areas. All images are stored on our state-of-the-art Picture Archive Communication System (PACS), which allows physicians to view the images on a computer and send and receive images with other physicians for consultation purposes.

Job Summary: Transport patients between clinical and nursing areas as directed. Assist with bedside care under the direction and supervision of an RN/LPN.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Transport patients internally using a variety of modes of transportation and using the proper documentation forms issued for record retention purposes.
  • Assist others within the hospital as requested to support the overall positive outcome in any situation.
  • On arrival to receiving destination report to personnel, assuming the care of the patient and all pertinent information for continued continuity of care. 
  • Assist on the various nursing units under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.
  • Maintain PCT competencies, adhering to established standards of practice and will engage in activities or behaviors that characterize professionals.
  • Provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.
  • The patient population would include the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient.
Qualifications:
  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training program or 3-6 months of related hospital experience/training in a similar role
  • BLS certification or willing to obtain after starting
