Job Overview:

The HR Director will provide leadership to the HR offices at Wind Creek Montgomery and Wind Creek Wetumpka properties. The HR Director will manage the daily operations of Recruitment, Employee Relations and Training for both properties. The HR Director will direct all activities involving Human Resources management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the Executive Vice-President of Human Resources is informed of any and all incidents or potential problems involving enterprise employees
  • Directs the timely orientation and enrollment of employees into the New Hire Orientation program
  • Directs the identification and completion of requisitions for open positions. Ensures all positions are posted according to WCH policies. Creates and implements hiring strategies when necessary
  • Ensures all applicants are pre-screened and presented to the hiring manager in a timely manner
  • Serves as a consultant to the operational managers regarding disciplinary/termination situations
  • Partners with operational managers to ensure PAR's are completed, performance documentation is completed and all required paperwork is reviewed, approved (when necessary) and processed
  • Ensures the HR Assistants keep files properly maintained and documentation is filed in employee HR files
  • Directs and participates in the facilitation of various HR focused topics; Workplace Violence, Sexual Harassment and Performance Management
  • Manages the Employee Relations Specialists, Employment Specialists and HR Assistants at both properties
  • Establishes and maintains a leadership business partnership with property General Managers
  • Reviews all employee investigations to ensure fairness, accuracy and completeness. Ensures that all Peer reviews are conducted properly and timely
  • Manages and coordinates turnover reports, employee documentation quarterly reports
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • High School diploma or GED– required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources AND seven (7) years' experience in an HR Management position– required
    • OR Four (4) years' experience in a Director level position AND seven (7) years' experience in an HR Management position– required
  • SPHR/PHR certification (or enrolled/scheduled for exam)- preferred
  • Experience and skills managing industry changes and trends in Employee Relations, Recruitment and Performance Management– required
  • Excellent computer skills– required.
  • Experience and skill with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel-required
  • Experience with Great Plains– required
  • Previous experience conducting employee investigations and completing investigative summary–required
  • Must possess a high level of maturity and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours if necessary. Willingness to work evenings, holidays or week-ends as requested or required
  • Required to possess and maintain a valid state driver's license
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Prior experience required with leading/managing staff professionals and work flow
  • Willingness to work in a smoke filled or secondary smoke filled environment
